Force precision: what are they trying to prove, and on what grounds?
Definition
Argument mapping is the practice of laying out a conclusion, supporting premises, and objections so the logical structure is visible instead of buried in prose.
If you cannot map an argument, you do not yet understand it well enough to accept or refute it. Mapping also reveals unsupported leaps and hidden assumptions.
